St. Lucy lived in Sicily in the 4th century. She and her mother loved Jesus very much. One day, her mother became very sick. After praying at the St. Agatha, her mother was cured. St. Lucy knew in her heart that one day, she would give her life for Jesus. Lucy gave all her wealth to the poor and promised Jesus she would remain pure for him. A young man wanted to marry her, but when she refused, she was denounced as a Christian and put to death. St. Lucy was a martyr, or someone who gave their life for Jesus.
